I also planned to visit a few temples (But never 50!). I went to Kannur to visit Chinthu's parents. Karunakaran uncle took me to 7 temples in Kannur..then it was a journey through the whole length of Kerala from north to south..Literally from Gokarnum (almost) to Kanyakumari. spiritual marathon ??? competing against jules verne???:-)
Well expressed, Anju...May be I should change the title to Spiritual Marathon :-)
"Spiritual Marathon " or may be "Marathon with spirit"
Once Pakkanar calls at his elder brother Agnihotri's house. He is told to wait because the latter is doing his daily Pujas. Rather than wait idly, Pakkanar starts digging a pit in the courtyard; every now and then, he would take a break and ask for his brother - and is told "he is now doing the Homam for Ganapati", "he is performing Siva Puja", "he is doing 'Salagrama Pushpanjali" and so on. For each different answer, Pakkanar begins digging a fresh pit. This goes on for a long time. Finally Agnihotri finishes his rituals and comes out to meet his brother - and finds his courtyard riddled with several small pits. Pakkanar remarks: "I did a lot of hard work, but no luck; rather than dig so many, if I had dug just one pit persistently, I would have found water by now!"
In this age of Mallyas, Ambanis and CPI(M)s, who can make Gods ooze out through all the pits, the above story may look obsolete !
Good Story Mashe...
Also 'Marathon with spirit' title is impressive:-)
Gowreesapattam temple is very nice
